"Batter my heart, three-person'd God, for you as yet but knock, breathe, shine, and seek to mend;
That I may rise and stand, o'erthrow me, and bend / Your force to break, blow, burn, and make me new."
- Holy Sonnet, John Donne
Born on the the Caerellius estate in the Velkrovna Vales, she and her twin were a symbol of strange and wild portents. Born under the sign of the Mage, they had untapped magical potential and so endured rigorous training at the hands of their uncle Otius, a battlemage bent on her father's behalf to bring more prestige to their noble lineage. The pressure was intense. The training dangerous. Their exposure to the arcane and Oblivion was early on, as tensions rose within the courts of the Imperial Throne. They were pushing to instate these aspiring battlemages within important roles to further the House's political agendas, as being decorated war-heros of the Legion was no longer enough. The stress of it all and the manipulations of their parents caused the twins' relationship to fracture and grow tenuous at best. But something happened. A field mission gone awry had left Lucrezia in such a bad state that she was comatose for several weeks under an uncertain magical ailment that could very well have killed her.It was a mistake. Or so one would think. The details were uncertain but she was discharged and labeled a failure where her sister excelled, but it was not enough for her parents. With tutoring from her uncle Otius, she enrolled in the Arcane University. While unable to bring glory to her lineage in the means decided for her, she did her best with what she had. For a couple of years things worked out very well, so much so that it had improved her relationship with her family. They were amicable. She was showing promise again as an excellent Ayleid-focused anthropologist and Daedrologist. Lucrezia even found love in a fellow student named Titus. With his influence she grew confident and slowly but surely would have begun to change for the better. The positive and promising influence of another that made her have hope that things could be better.Unbeknownst to them all though, a presentation was due to take place on the unforunate day the Anchors came falling down. By then the Worm Cult was nestled firmly in the city like a stubborn weed and Mannimarco's hold upon the Imperial Throne was resolute. When they struck, they began killing and enthralling innocents and summoning all sorts of abominations to contest with the unprepared masses, much to the surprise and dismay of them all. In the ensuing conflict the University had tried to help as many escape as possible but in the chaos she lost sight of her parents. It was when Titus departed to assist the remaining survivors in their escape that the worst had come to pass, as if their lives as they knew it had not already been irrepairably altered, Titus was slain violently in front of them.Enemies were everywhere. Undead. Daedra. Mages and spell-casters alike mad from the breakdown and brutalization of the veil that separated Oblivion from Nirn. He was torn apart. Eviscerated in ways she could not unsee. His screams and that of other victims and following chaos echoed throughout the air, a sound she could not forget. It was the last thing she remembered before being dragged through a portal by her brother Lars.As one of few survivors of their family's unfortunate decimation in the City and resulting war, they were left to mourn. The fate of her sister and uncle is unknown, but it took time. She was an empty shell of her former self, helping her brother however she could to reestablish what remained of their family. Her only request was that she could be left in peace when she required it.This was not as good for her as Lars had thought. Through Lucrezia's efforts and a stroke of fortune, she would take the opportunity to abandon everything to escape to Fargrave. For years worked to keep her busy. In between jobs for a mysterious benefactor, she found herself in her own element. Free of mortal constraint. Free to roam the Planes of Oblivion. Free to study and drink and fuck and do every little thing her heart desired...until that soothing palm worked no further. In time she would ache for something familiar. Something she had left behind. It did not take long for her to decide to go home, and would do so after a good deal of time. Her brother feared for the worst and was more than relieved to discover that she still lived. He accepted her and currently allows her to serve as the Lady of the House, working through the affairs of their lands and complexities of noble society. It is all she desired to do, as if making up for her former trespasses.

⋅•⋅⊰ SKILLS ⊱⋅•⋅
strengths
✦ Blessed by the Mage | Fortune from Birth
Lucrezia was born under the sign of the Mage, thusly blessed with a better pool of magicka and a talent for spellcasting. This blessing was used to learn a wide range skills regarding the arcane and is considered to be a talented mage.✦ The Mettle of Caerellius | The Diamond's Shield
As a planned political tool for her House, she has trained extensively beneath the careful hand of her battlemage uncle and later the Spire and Arcane University. She is well-versed in magical theory, application and in combat.✦ The Fox of the Colovian Estates
Despite her failures, traumas and short-comings, she is adept at hiding each and every flaw. She is skilled in manuvering as required of her, adopting and mimicking positively viewed traits to survive.
Weaknesses
✦ The Folly of the Mage | The Forces of Nature versus Nurture
Whether it be the nature of her birthsign or circumstance, she is a haughty and terrible vixen, bent on moving solely for her own purposes. She can be a worthy ally or the most vexing of enemies.✦ Oblivion's Rot | The Influence of Other Planes
Having been trained in the pocket realm of the Spire and exposed further to the rest of Oblivion, she hungers for power to correct mistakes made. No matter the cost.✦ A Battlemage's Scars | Failures that Endure
While she was never a full-fledged Battlemage, she has the unfortunate mentality of one following constant training in her youth. As such she can be paranoid, slow to trust and quick to betray as she sees fit.

Arrenis Valori
Notarius & Colleague
Desired, Detested
"You look like him, in a way. Titus. But you could not be more different. I want to devour you. To destroy you. Make you cry and beg. To see if you would sacrifice yourself upon the altar I would make of you. But even still...I cannot deny myself when I see you."
Lucrezia Cosma
Fellow Scholar & Colleague
Liked, Respected
"I feared for the worst when our beloved City had fallen, and our University with it but I could not be happier seeing you still live and breathe. There are so many things you have not been there for. I only hope that I get enough time to spend with you again. Like old times."

Father & Mother | Legion Veterans
Estranged, Deceased
"I close my eyes and I see you dying all over again. Both of you. We barely managed to escape, my brother and I. We are all that's left of you and your legacy. Do not hate me too much for not being a better daugher, because the Divines know I hated you both for not being better parents."
Otius Caerellius
Uncle | Mentor & Battlemage
Adored, Uncertain Fate
"You supported me regardless of whether or not I benefitted our House, or our standings. You understood the utility and practicality in the skills you have taught me. And when my parents did not, you helped me out of the kindness of your heart. For that, I owe you everything."
Lucinia Caerellius
Twin Sister | Rival & Battlemage
Complicated, Uncertain Fate
"Our parents poisoned our minds. But you? You had contempt for me, for not seeing their vision. Their goals. Their way. The 'best' way. I could see the anger in your eyes...but now I will never see you again."
Lars Caerellius
Elder Brother | Current Viscount
Loved, Complicated
"You didn't defend me or my sister from our parents, but you did not scorn me either for not benefiting our family name. You survived the worst with me, saving me when I could not save myself. You even accepted my return after I abandoned you. Please. Let me understand you. Is it for gain or our kinship?"

Common
✦ The Spire & The Arcane University | A Failure's Scholarly Pursuits
Following her failure to become a proper Battlemage, she enrolled in the Arcane University. It was here that she found her passions and studied Ayleid anthropology and Daedrology, a focus on theory and study than the battle-focused applications and skills of the Spire. It was here that she blossomed among other scholars and academics despite the shame of her past.
✦ House Caerellius | The Trials and Tribulations of Kinfolk
Rumors from courtiers and maids alike speak of the turmoil within the confines of House Caerellius going back many years. A firm, even cruel upbringing for the sake of their political goals and aspirations. Abuse. Strife where there should have been sisterhood. Distance where there should have been warmth.Even as she aged and returned ot noble life her reputation within the courts is precarious as she is the image of the Empire's failures. A failed aspirant of the Battlespire, her only consolation being that she did well enough within the Arcane University. After an explosive and humiliating reintroduction to the courts of Cyrodiil rumors are common.

✦ Pathwalker | Wanderer of Realms
Though it is not common, it's not exactly a secret to any who know better of her that she is a traveler of realms. Coldharbour, the Shivering Isles, the Spiral Skein, the Field of Regrets, you name it, she has likely visited. If any who wish to contract her for work to access these realms, she would be that person to do so.
✦ Big Goals, and Bigger Ideas | Someone Too Ambitious
With each step forward, Lucrezia finds herself seeking to climb more heights. Finger of the Mountain. Binding spells to catch the deadliest of Daedra and Dremora. Jobs that yield unimaginable wealth. Rarer tomes and spells. Procuring rare goods, even people, for the highest bidder. Will she fly too close to the sun? Or will the light of Magnus blind her before she has the chance to?
Rare
✦ The Deal | She Who Coveted The Power Of God
Very little is known of what she requested of this Benefactor from the depths of Fargrave but all anyone does manage to find out is that occasionally they would disappear for a time. A plot. A scheme. Something to dismantle some of the very powers that be. An ability or skill beyond compare, except for that of the Princes and the Divines themselves. Mantling. But to what end?NOTICE: This hook needs to be discussed OOCly as it is something very few, if any, would discover.

⋅•⋅⊰ LOCATIONS ⊱⋅•⋅
✦ Cyrodiil | The Red Diamond's Rememberance
Lucrezia travels these lands out of her home, often times by cart, by portal (paying well with the Mages Guild, or by Mark and Recall) or by seas, going anywhere that the heart desires.✦ Broader Tamriel | The Adventurer's Heart
After finding herself lost with the fall of the Empire and the Imperial City, when what remains of home becomes too much to bear, she will travel by any means necessary to depart for a time and seclude herself in any tavern that would house her for more than a couple of nights.✦ Oblivion | The Celestial Palanquin & Beyond
Lucrezia can be found here at the absolute worst of her internal turmoil, hiding away from Nirn entirely. She's in Fargrave, performing work for her Benefactor and indulging in other tasks. She might be lounging by the fountain or striking deals with it's residents.
